Married for One Month!

Monday, May 17, was our one-month wedding anniversary! It's hard to believe one month has already passed and I'm sure we'll be saying the same every month and year hereafter. Time certainly does fly when you're having fun.

Ross and I had a nice dinner together to celebrate our month of matrimony. We put a pork roast with potatoes and carrots in the crock pot that morning and enjoyed coming home to the delicious smell that filled our house. I also came home to find a rose laying on my side of our bed with a card addressed to Mrs. Libby Wiseman. My husband is so good to me! We have discussed that we never want to stop dating each other and I truly believe that we won't.

I set our table using our new china plates and our wedding toasting glasses. I also made sure we used the butter dishes, serving bowl and spoon, placemats and napkins we received as wedding gifts. I probably didn't need to use all that I did, but it was fun anyway!

We had a nice, enjoyable meal together, just the two of us - no television in the background! The skies had cleared from the weekend rain so we took a short walk around our neighborhood after dinner and just enjoyed being together!

Roses From My Groom

I came home from work Tuesday to find three red roses, from my husband, waiting for me on our bed. When we were dating Ross would often leave flowers or a card on my doorstep or surprise me with flowers or Jujyfruits when he came to pick me up for a date. I love that he doesn't want to and won't stop doing little things like that for me. He is the best!

The Best Things In Life Are Shared

When Ross picked me up for our wedding rehearsal he brought me a gift bag that had a card and my wedding present in it. He told me to open it when I woke up Saturday morning. I really didn't know what it was and was very excited to open it.

So after waking up on our wedding day the first thing I did was open the present. I read the card first, and as usual, it was so nice and touching; cue crying! Ross is so good at sharing his heart with me! Then I pulled out my present; cue more crying! It was one bowl with two spoons and says "The Best Things In Life Are Shared."

I first saw this bowl at a Hallmark store back in October and loved it. I told Ross he needed to get it for me because of his love for sharing food with me, NOT!

Ross and I have an ongoing battle over sharing our food and drinks. When he orders a Coke our conversation goes something like this:
Ross: Do you want a Coke?
Libby: No, I'll just have some drinks of yours.
Ross: Why don't you just get your own Coke?
Libby: If I order a Coke for myself I won't finish it and I'll waist it so I'll just have some drinks from yours.

You can replace "Coke" with French fries, candy, dessert, bread, etc., and the outcome is still the same. Ross (like most every other guy I'm finding) doesn't like to share his food - he ordered it so he wants to eat all of it. So the fact that he gave me this sharing bowl is just priceless to me!

The Groom's Cake

We absolutely loved Ross' groom's cake! We originally thought of making the cake in the shape of an umbrella - more so as a joke. (Ross works for Traveler's Insurance and their logo is a red umbrella so we thought it'd be funny to do that). I really don't remember how we came up with the design idea for the cake, but we both loved it! It was quite tasty, too. I wish I had another piece of the cake right now!
