Goals...

This was in Lucy's backpack one day with some other papers she brought home from school. If you can't read it, here's what it says:  

My goals for 4th quarter or beyond:  I want to be in at least 6 plays and in at least 1 movie by the time I'm 13. 

How I'm going to reach my goals:  Do plays during the school year and get an acting agent.

Who can help me:  My mom.

I love this for so many reasons! She probably did this during counselor time and I'm betting the counselor was more so looking for school-type goals! I love how Lucy says 6 plays and 1 movie by the time she's 13! It's so sweet to me. Lucy has a desire to be famous some day and be an actor!

I love how she says she's going to get an agent! This is something she's asked me about a few times - if she could get an acting agent. And I love, love, love how she says "my mom" will help her reach her goals. Lucy is so sweet! :)

First Friday Drum Line & Succulents

Last week was the first Friday of the month so for PTA we continued on with our First Friday Fun days for teachers! We had Eagleton in the morning carline and we had the Kickapoo Drum Line playing greeting students. Kickapoo is the high school that students who go to our elementary school will go to, so it's fun having them there. We had the drum line at the November First Friday and it was so neat! Everyone loved hearing them in the morning. They woke up the whole neighborhood!

We gave our teachers a little succulent plant as a treat for that day. They plants were so cute and we got lots of compliments and thanks for them. Only one more First Friday left of the school year! This was my idea and I started this fun little thing. I'm glad I did because it has been fun! 

St. Patrick's Day Photos

 The picture below is from St. Patrick's Day 2023 and the picture below it is from St. Patrick's Day 2015! 2015 was Molly's first St. Patrick's Day and I snapped the photo of them together on the couch. Since then I've tried to recreate this picture each year. So far not too bad!

I've started a new thing..........I'm a substitute teacher now! I hadn't planned on doing this and if you would have told me at the beginning of the year I'd be doing this I probably wouldn't have believed you! 

I do a lot of "work," but don't get paid for it. The work I'm talking about it my work with PTA as the president, my work with the Senior Center delivering meals, and my work as the treasurer for our homeowners association. I enjoy all I do, but just decided I wanted to get paid for some of the stuff I do, so I got certified as a substitute teacher with Springfield Public Schools.

Penmac Staffing Agency fills all the sub vacancies for SPS, so I had to apply through them, do a bunch of paper work and pay a few fees, and long story short, I received my sub certificate! So far I've been a half day PE teacher and a full and half day 3rd grade teacher in the same class. Overall I've enjoyed it and each day I go learn something new about subbing. I can pick and choose where I work and what days I work, so have decided to only work at the girls' school so I don't have to worry about childcare for them after school. I still do my bootcamp classes at the gym MWF, and can sub half days on MWF afternoons and full days on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It's just a really great schedule! And it's great getting a paycheck! I'll still do all my other "jobs" but right now it's nice having another job that I actaully get paid for!
