Advent began on Sunday, December 3, and we started out advent book again. I think this is the third year now that we've done this book and I really like it. We light the advent candles each Sunday and then each night we have a few pages that we read and have discussion questions. It's a great way to remember the true meaning of the season!
I was in charge of our PTA Fall Fest again this past October and it went off without a hitch! If there was one thing bad about it, it would be the weather! It turned very cold that night (at least very cold for October 6) and was windy. We think the weather kept some people away, but overall we had a good turnout and raised about $3,000 that night. I was in charge of organizing all of it and I think I did a pretty good job! It's a big task to undertake and I am always glad when it's over, but it is fun!
We had family pictures taken last month at JC Penney's and I think they turned out great! I used to go every year to take family pictures and Christmas pictures of the girls but haven't been for a few years now. The girls wanted to Christmas pictures so I thought it was a perfect time to do family pictures, too! We have been going to JCP pictures for over 10 years now!
My very good friend, Pam, gave me these gloves for my birthday quite a few years ago. Maybe even 10+ years ago! They are running gloves and she gave them to me because she knows I run in cold weather. I don't know what specifically makes them "running glove" but the tag on them said running so I've worn them when I run in cold weather. They have been great and there are a few times I was afraid I'd lost them, but thankfully I hadn't! I got these gloves out a few weeks ago to run and realized what a great gift it was! It was even greater because she knew me well enough to know I would like these and use them! I love gifts like this that have meaning and thought behind them!
I love the wish bone part of Thanksgiving! Since we made a turkey this year we had a wishbone to pull apart so Molly and I did it. I got the bigger half so I guess that means my wish will come true!
