Ross left on Sunday for a business trip in Connecticut so I am living as a single girl again this week.
His company, Traveler's Insurance, is headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, and once a year he makes the trip up there for a week-long training class. This week he is learning about writing estimates on heavy equipment. He left Sunday and will return home this Friday, May 28. He had the choice of going this week or going in the middle of December but we agreed that May would be a much better time to go. December just gets so busy with Christmas parties.
We've been married now for 5 weeks and 2 days and it's amazing how used to each others company we have become in that short of time. We truly enjoy spending our spare time together and I'm happy to honestly make that statement. Before we were married we both worried a little that we'd get tired of each other or need a lot of down/alone time. We would even joke that we should keep my house so we could have a "vacation from each other house" to go to when needed! We have spent the majority of our spare time together since we've been married and look forward to doing so. I'm so glad our worries were just that - worries. We just enjoy being together.
I've only had 1 day alone this week but have found that living alone is kind of boring. Our house seems so big and quiet when I'm there alone. But I have lots of things planned to do around the house this week and might go over to my house to finish packing and cleaning. I don't think I'll be bored, just lonely and feel somewhat like part of me is missing. I'll definitely be looking forward to Friday night around 7:30 when I pick my husband up from the airport!

Garage Sale or Yard Sale?
Today and tomorrow I'm having a garage sale at my house (my house off Linwood street, not my house with Ross in Battlefield :) ). A couple of my girlfriends and I, along with my mom, are hoping to rake in the dough by selling some of our out-dated, unwanted items. I have lots of kitchen gadgets, pots and pans, picture frames, books, sheets, bedding sets, clothes and other miscellaneous items. I think my friends have the same, just add baby/toddler clothes and toys to the mix.
My house is in a prime location for garage sales and this weekend looks to be perfect weather. Hopefully that will bring all the bargain-hunters out, especially since last weekend was a complete washout due to rain. We'll set everything up on my driveway but might need to spill over into my yard a bit.
I've been thinking about the terms "garage sale" and "yard sale" and wondered which term you use when referring to this type of a sale? I've always called it a garage sale but lately this term has been bugging me. I'm not selling my garage and I won't even be using my garage to display any of our items so why call it a garage sale? And on that note, it's funny to me when I'm having a conversation about a garage sale and the person I'm talking to refers to it as a yard sale. We're talking about the same thing but calling it by different names, in the same conversation.
Okay, enough rambling.....I have things to sell!

Housing Update
Ross' house (now our house) has been on the market for almost three months now. We have had several interested buyers look at it but we haven't received any offers yet. Last week we dropped the price by $3,000, taking it down to $166,900, a very fair price for this house. We're hoping the price drop will spark some new interest and bring us an offer very soon.
We have been discussing what to do with my house - rent it or sell it - and have decided to try putting it up for rent. If we don't have any takers then we will probably just list it for sale. My house is in a perfect location as it is about 1 mile from the MSU campus and St. John's hospital and only about 3 miles away from the Battlefield mall. I have enjoyed and loved my house so much and am afraid it will be hard to see it go someday. I just hope the person who lives in it next loves it as much as I do!

T-Ball Anyone?
My five-year-old nephew, Cody, is playing T-ball this summer and Ross and I went to one of his game a few weeks ago. The game is set up for every child to have a chance to hit off of the "t" each inning and run the bases. They do not count outs or keep score - it's more of a learning setting right now.
Watching five-year-olds play is hilarious! I'd say that most of the boys don't quite grasp the concept of the game yet, but they do know that at the end of the game they get a snack! Now there are some players who are serious about the game and are good, too, but they are definitely in the minority.
Cody was fun to watch! He did pretty good at batting and running the bases and even slid into home plate. When it was his turn to play outfield he seemed to more so enjoy making us laugh over paying attention to the game. He is such a ham!

Married for One Month!
Monday, May 17, was our one-month wedding anniversary! It's hard to believe one month has already passed and I'm sure we'll be saying the same every month and year hereafter. Time certainly does fly when you're having fun.
Ross and I had a nice dinner together to celebrate our month of matrimony. We put a pork roast with potatoes and carrots in the crock pot that morning and enjoyed coming home to the delicious smell that filled our house. I also came home to find a rose laying on my side of our bed with a card addressed to Mrs. Libby Wiseman. My husband is so good to me! We have discussed that we never want to stop dating each other and I truly believe that we won't.
I set our table using our new china plates and our wedding toasting glasses. I also made sure we used the butter dishes, serving bowl and spoon, placemats and napkins we received as wedding gifts. I probably didn't need to use all that I did, but it was fun anyway!
We had a nice, enjoyable meal together, just the two of us - no television in the background! The skies had cleared from the weekend rain so we took a short walk around our neighborhood after dinner and just enjoyed being together!
