And So Begins The Painting

A few weeks ago Ross and I bought paint for four of the rooms in our house. We both want to paint every room, including the entryway, and decided to go ahead and get started on it. We looked at several paint color samples and really had a hard time figuring out what color to do where. We decided on yellow for the kitchen, steel-blue for the living/dining room, olive green for Ross' office and two shades of brown for Ross' "man room".

We started painting in the kitchen and it has made all the difference in the world to me! This house really started to feel like home after a little color appeared in the kitchen. Right now every room in our house is either white or a very neutral tan - nice but blah I love color and I'm so glad that Ross loves color, too!

Ross and I make a good painting team. We work on the prep/taping work together and he starts the painting by cutting in the top and bottom of the wall and I come along with the roller and get the main portion of the wall. It's nice to work well together!

I Love My Husband

I came home after a long Monday to find this:

Ross got me a candy bar (Hershey's is my FAVORITE candy bar) and a card that he wrote a very nice message in. On several occasions before we were married I would come home to find a card or candy on my front porch from Ross, just because. I love that he still "dates" me even though we're married and I know this is not something he will stop doing once we've been married longer. He truly is a romantic and I love him!

Happy Graduation Nathan Herndon, MBA

Happy Graduation today to my brother-in-law, Nathan Herndon. He is graduating from Missouri State University with his MBA!!

He has been working on this degree for the past 6 years - working a full-time job and having a family at home allowed him to take only one class per semester. (He did take a couple of years off to work on building their house, but he finished!) And he's not just graduating, but graduating with honors - he has received a straight A grade in ALL of his classes! Quite an accomplishment!!

Congratulations, Nathan!!!

Don't Worry, I'm Still Here!

Hello blog world! Have you wondered where I've been? I could blame my lack of blog posts by saying "I've just been too busy" but quite honestly that is not the case! I just haven't been in the mood to write lately. I have several items to blog about but am having trouble getting my fingers motivated to do the typing.

Ross and I have had a fun and eventful July:
-Lots of good pool time at mom and dad's
-Road trip to Pennsylvania for a wedding
-Packing for our move
-Closing on our new house on July 21
-Moving into our new house on July 23
-Cody's birthday party on July 24 (He turned 6 on July 27.)

I hope to give some of these events their due "air time" so to say, by posting about them individually...we will see how that goes!

In the meantime, stay cool!

Mrs. Ross Wiseman :)

Dessert Picnic

Last Friday night Ross took me to dinner at the Olive Garden (one of my favs) and then to the park where we got engaged for a Dessert Picnic!

We walked around the park trying to find a shaded place to sit and ended up very close to the spot we actually got engaged at. (Much to our dismay, the bench we sat at when Ross proposed has been removed.) Ross brought our picnic basket packed with sparkling grape juice, champagne glasses and "wedding cake" left over from mom and dad's anniversary celebration last weekend. We had a fun time eating, drinking and taking pictures. Ross is so good to take pictures with me!

He also presented me with a rose during our picnic. We both like to watch the Bachelor and Bachelorette TV shows so Ross thought it would be funny to present me with a rose, letting me know I made it to the next round. We had a good laugh about that!

Halfway through our picnic we almost got attacked by the ducks that roam around the park we were at. All of a sudden about 10 ducks came up and just started begging for food. We didn't have anything left to feed them so tried to shoo them away. It was quite funny watching them, especially the few who had somewhat of a mowhawk!

We had a very nice evening together and the weather was absolutely perfect.
