We went back to school clothes shopping one day and Molly was such a trooper! Right now, Molly doesn't seem to be into clothes as much as Lucy, and Molly gets to wear Lucy's old clothes, so it was more so shopping for Lucy than Molly. Molly, though, did not let that get her down. She had the best time entertaining herself in front of the mirror in the Target dressing room while Lucy had fun trying on clothes. Her dance was so cute and yes, she did lie on the dressing room floor, but her clothes will wash and she got a bath before bed. :) You can watch dance her here!

Bowling Fun
A local bowling alley has a program offering kids two free games of bowling each day during the summer months. All you have to do is sign your kid up and they email you your coupons each week. My nephews stayed a couple of nights with my parents this summer, so I signed everyone up and Gumma took us bowling one afternoon. It was a lot of fun bowling together! I got a kick out of Gumma, who was all official bringing her own bowling ball and powder and washcloth to help dry her hands off before bowling!
The bowling was free, but we did have to rent our shoes, which were $4/pair. But, if you take your shoe rental receipt to the arcade desk you can exchange it for a $5 game card for the arcade! So basically this bowling alley paid us $1 to play there that afternoon! The girls and boys had a great time playing games and Gumma even played some air hockey with Lucy and Molly! It was a fun time and lots of good memories were made!

First Day Fail!
Lucy has done great her first few days of kindergarten. I, however, failed the very first day! Lucy came home from school on the first day with the following note in her backpack.
I laughed so hard at this and was totally laughing at myself. I saw on her class schedule that she has snack time from 10:45-11:00am each day. I wasn't told or given any information about sending a snack or sending money for a snack, so thought it was pretty neat that her school provided a snack for the kids! Well, I was certainly wrong! I completely missed something or her teacher just forgot to tell us to send a snack each day! Thankfully, Lucy's teacher did give her a snack that first day, and Lucy said there were lots of other kids who didn't have a snack, either, so at least I wasn't the only one! I just laughed to myself thinking how naive of me to think that the school would provide it! I guess I thought that because they have a "breakfast in the classroom" program the is completely free for every student at that school, so why wouldn't they provide a snack, too?! So you can bet from now on the first item I pack in her backpack each day is a snack!
The first week of kindergarten has been a good one, but there's definitely been a learning curve to go along with it!

Little Grocery Shoppers
We went to our local grocery store and let the girls use the little shopping carts they have. I love these carts so much and so do the girls! I'm pretty sure I've posted about the carts before, but it's definitely worth a second post! I have several friends who complain about these carts and talk about how much of a pain they are when their kids use them. I can so not relate to those posts because I think these carts are just great! Sure, they can be a little hard for children to maneuver, but as long as you keep your eye on them, they're not too bad and just super cute! You can watch them shop here!

Last Day Of Summer Vacation
Our last day of summer vacation ended up being a pretty fun day. I'm kind of surprised, because I didn't have anything planned for the day. This was highly unusual for me because all summer I've basically had our whole week planned out on Sunday! I guess I just ran out of things to do, and it was raining, so that was a bit limiting.
We ended up going to the aquarium with Amelie and Maren, and then the girls wanted to eat at McDonald's for lunch, so we did. After Molly's nap we headed to Petsmart, our favorite summer stomping ground, then stopped by Lucy's school for some Kona Ice. It was "Meet the Teacher Day" for all first through fifth graders and they had the Kona Ice truck there for the event! We couldn't pass up Kona Ice! And I was very nervous and had questions about how the first day of school would go dropping Lucy off, etc. I saw some PTA officers at the school and just explained my situation to them and they were very understanding and happy to answer my questions. I was so thankful for that!
It was a great way to wrap up a very fun summer with my favorite girls! :)
