One day when we were at my parent's house, Molly found a Barbie bike at their house and needed to ride it. It's a little bike meant for a 3-4 year-old, but that didn't stop Molly! She loves to play on anything, no matter what the size, so she rode it around their house for a bit. I love how she's such a kid at hear! You can watch her here!
It rained a lot off and on one day last week and we ended up playing in the rain! It had stopped raining so we went out to play and ride scooters, but then it started raining again. The girls didn't care and continued riding scooters and then even got their swimsuits on and played in the rain. It was really perfect rain to play in - it wasn't cold, there weren't any thunderstorms in the area - just a good, solid rain to have fun in!
We had a good 4th of July weekend! It began on Saturday morning with a neighborhood bike parade! I organized it and this is the second year we've done it. I think we had a few more kids this year than last, and I look forward to continuing it for lots of more year. Lucy decorated her bike and Molly decorated the electric scooter and we had a fun time in the parade!
We went to my parent's house on the 4th to swim and have a hibachi dinner cooked by Ross. The weather was perfect and the pool water was a perfect temperature for swimming and having fun. Ross did a fantastic job cooking our dinner and even had a little fun trying to do an egg roll. You can watch it here!
We had a lot of fun shooting off some little and big fireworks and sparklers. Lucy loved doing the smoke bombs and finally learned how to use the lighter and do them herself. She was very good to run out of the way once lit. :) The past few years we've gotten a parachute firework. Last year it got stuck in a tree and this year it got stuck on the sunroom roof on the deck! It was quite funny to us and you can watch it here!
We took pictures on the beach one night and watched the sunset. It was such a pretty thing to watch! You can watch it here, it's three minutes long!
There was a storm approaching the entire time we were on our dolphin watching cruise while on vacation. It was a little unsettling to me, especially when seeing the clouds all around us with lightening! But the captain and crew on the boat never said a word about it and didn't seem bothered at all, so I figured we were okay! I'm sure they deal with weather like that all the time, but to me it was somewhat scary being out on the water while it was lightening! Here's a video of the clouds!
