We went to two Springfield Cardinal's games in one week a few weeks ago! Sunday, June 11 was Mann Family Night at the ballpark and each student got 2 tickets to a game, so we went to that game. Then that same week on Thursday, June 15, it was City Utilities Night at the ballpark, so Ross got 4 tickets to the game. We also got to eat at the game that night, so that was fun! Ross and I enjoyed ourselves. The girls did, too, as you can tell from the picture........
Last Wednesday was the first day of summer and we celebrated by swimming, getting Pineapple Whip, and playing outside with neighbor kids in the evening. It was a great day of all of the activities! Molly had fun driving the Barbie car with a neighbor friend and then she rode scooters up and down the street with a group of neighbor kids. Lucy enjoyed hanging out with me and watching! Summer fun!
I bought this table and chair set for Lucy when she was maybe 16-17 months old and I was pregnant with Lucy! I found it at a friend of a friend's garage sale. I had been wanting a table like this for Lucy to play at and was thrilled to have found it. It was $25 and the tabletop was a bit messed up, but I didn't care. It was in our living room and served as a play area for years and then moved into our playroom. Last year I put it up in our attic because it was just not being used anymore.
This spring we were trying to clean things out and I decided that it would be okay to pass this table along to someone else. I asked the girls and they said yes, let's sell it. So I posted it for sale on Facebook and a friend messaged me that she had a friend who wanted to buy it. I was thrilled and even more thrilled to learn that my friend's friend who wanted to buy the table and chairs is the same lady who I bought it from in 2014! She wanted to buy it back for her niece who was getting ready to have a baby! This made me so happy and I love how it came full circle!
On Memorial Day weekend we made our annual trip to visit Aunt Marilee at the cemetery. I have been doing this since 2008 I think and Ross was happy to come along with me when we started dating and then continue it on with the girls. I think they like going out there. It's a pretty setting and we like walking around looking at the different kinds of gravestones.
We went to my parent's house a few weeks ago to swim...in 70 degree water! Needless to say the swimming didn't last very long because the water was so cold and it wasn't really a very hot or sunny day out, so that didn't help much. But warmer days and water are ahead!
