One day while shopping at Hobby Lobby Ross saw a mini donut maker and said he really wanted it. So, I got it for him for his birthday and let me tell you, it is definitely a MINI donut maker! The donuts really tasted more like pancakes and were one-bite donuts, but they were good. It was a fun little novelty thing to have and I'm sure we'll get it out every now and then to make mini donuts!
On Sunday we went to the cemetery and put flowers on Aunt Marilee's grave. Ross and I have been doing this the entire time we've been together and we've taken the girls since they were babies. I really enjoy this tradiaiton and I think the girls like it, too. The last few years we've walked around the cemetery looking at other graves and have found some really interesting ones.
This year the flowers I put on Aunt Marilee's grave were extra special because they came from Aunt Linda's house! (Aunt Marilee and Aunt Linda are both my mom's sisters.) Aunt Marilee died in 1985 and Aunt Linda died in 2022. When we were cleaning out Aunt Linda's house I took some of her flowers and thought how fun to put them on Aunt Marilee's grave - flowers from her sister, niece, and great nieces!
We went furniture shopping recently and Molly found a new bed she wants - a waterbed! I didn't know they still made waterbeds anymore, so it was fun to see and even lay on. I had a waterbed when I was growing up and remember it very well. My parents had one, too. It seems like such a 1980s thing to have!
We tend to get treats a lot on the weekend! The girls know that Daddy really like McDonald's Coke, so they often ask if we can go to McDonald's, knowing he will more than likely say yes! Here's a picture from a recent Saturday treat day at McDonald's!
I read these verses a few weeks ago and really liked them. It's a good reminder that even though times can be hard, there is always hope and things will always turn around. The Lord is so good to bless us and repay us for the hard times!
So I guess we have been living under a rock because we had no idea you could see the Northern Lights from our location last Friday night! We woke up Saturday morning and saw everyone posting about it on Facebook and had no clue! I guess we completely missed it on the news or something. They were still visible Saturday night and we drove a little north out of the city to try and see them. We think we saw them, just a sliver, as you can see in the picture below. It was pretty cloudy, so the view was lmited. We were so bummed to have missed this opportunity!
I went through the drive-thru at Chick fil A for lunch a few weeks ago and was excited to see my nephew, Trevor, at work! I didn't see his truck in the parking lot so didn't think he was working that day. It was really fun to see him and have him take my order. I think he was excited to see me, too, and, of course, it was his pleasure! ;)
