Door Notes!

I finally did a pin I pinned on Pinterest a few years back! It was an idea to write positive messages to your kids listing things they are good at and put them on their bedroom door. I started this at the beginning of February and put a new heart on their door each night leading up to Valentine's Day. I didn't tell them I was doing this and it took a few days for them to notice the hearts on their doors. I think they liked them!

Molly even took time to put a note on the door to mine and Ross' room! She's so sweet!

Silly Girls!

Lucy and Molly can get SUPER hyper sometimes and they usually chose to do this right before bedtime! Ross and I have often laughed and rolled our eyes at the people who say to give your kids a bath before bed because it will calm them down and help them get ready to sleep. That is way NOT the case for our kids! Baths seem to wake them up, not calm them down. The pictures below are from one of those nights that they got SUPER hyper. And as much as we try not to encourage them, it is hard because they can just be so funny! They're also at an age where they think butts and sooo funny, as you might be able to tell from one of the pictures below!

Treadmill!

We bought a treadmill! We have an exercise bike in our basement that Ross has had for a very long time. He uses it about two times a week, but I never use it because the seat is uncomfortable. He mentioned he'd like to get a treadmill and I thought that was a great idea! I'm not a fan of running on the treadmill, but I am a fan of running and when it's as cold and snowy as it has been the last few weeks, I cannot run outside! So a few weeks ago he drove to Osage Beach to purchase the treadmill he wanted to Dick's Sporting Goods and came back home with it. He got it all put together, plugged it in, turned it on, but it blew a fuse! We did a little research and found that he would need to create an electrical outlet just for the treadmill due to the amount of power it needed. So he did some more research on what exactly he needed to do and he got it done! It's been so nice to have it in the basement to go use whenever we feel like using it! I have a goal this year to run 10 miles a week, so having this at my fingertips will definitely help me meet that goal!

Molly's 6th Birthday!

Molly's 6th birthday was Saturday, February 20. It's so hard to believe we've had her for six years already! Time certainly does fly by! The Saturday before her friend birthday party we let Molly bring a few friends to Urban Air Adventure (an indoor trampoline and obstacle course park) to play around for a few hours. She had a great time and it was fun to meet some of her friends and their moms!

On her birthday we had breakfast in bed and she was so very excited for it! She told us she woke up at 5:30am and waited in bed for us until we came in at 7:15am! She gets one present on her breakfast in bed try and it was a new makeup phone like one she's had for a while and used up. She LOVES this thing and has loved putting on eye shadow! Gramma and Grampa came to visit and we went out to lunch then played around our house in the afternoon.

Gumma and Poppy and my sister and her family all came over and we opened presents, had dinner, and played games. Molly had such a fun time and it was great that everyone participated! Molly is such a fun little girl. I was thinking recently how she totally embodies the "Live, Laugh, Love" signs that you see around. She lives and loves to the fullest and has the most contagious laugh that she loves to use! I do love her so!

Ice Ornaments!

We made ice ornaments this week! Since the actual temperature (not the wind chill, the ACTUAL temperature) was -11, I figured it would be a good time to do this project! We took balloons and filled them up with water and added some food coloring. We set them outside to let them freeze for a few hours. After they froze, we brought them in and cut off the balloons and had pretty balls of ice to put out on the porch for decorations! I had fun doing this project and the girls thought it was pretty neat, too!

Snow Day Fort!

We have had some very cold temperatures and winty mix every day this week, so school was canceled on Tuesday. Today (Wednesday) is our virtual day, so we were scheduled to be home, but I'm sure school would have been canceled had Wednesday been a seated class day. Molly's teacher told her class that they could do their Zoom call in a fort because they've been doing such a good job with their calls all year. So yesterday we put together a very big fort for Molly. It turned out so good! We used chairs, card tables, the piano bench, and lots of blankets. The girls had a fun time playing in the fort off and on yesterday and today Molly did part of her call in the tent. She moved up to a chair to finish her call to be a little more comfortable.

New Year's Eve!

We had a fun New Year's Eve this year. We stayed home and had a fun night with the girls. They have heard how my nephews have always had a sleepover in their family room on NYE, so the girls wanted to do that and we said it was okay. Ross brought both of their mattresses down to the family room and we set them up right next to each other. The girls had a fun time dancing around to Kidz Bop songs and watching NYE countdowns on Netflix. We played a few games and then we turned off the lights around 9pm or so. Ross and I watched the New York Times Square ball drop at 11 and called that good and went to sleep. It was a nice evening!
