Flowers and Candy

I'm a lucky girl! Ross brought me flowers and candy last week, just because! I love that he does this for me! Thank you, Ross!

I Have Become My Mother - Part 3

I've written two posts in the past explaining two different ways I've become my mother. You can read about them here. Well, just last week I did something with a tissue box that is EXACTLY what my mother does. She will get pretty tissue boxes, Christmas decorated boxes for example, and when the tissues run out, she will just refill the tissue box instead of buying a new one. Not to save money or anything like that, but because she likes the tissue box she has.

Well, I guess I'm partial to my tissue boxes, too, because I did this exact same thing last week. I'm finally getting around to decorating my guest bathroom and I really like the tissue box I have in there. It matches the décor and it's "kiddy-themed." I was really bummed when I ran out of tissues because I didn't know if I'd be able to find that same box again. And I really liked it. I looked at the store, but couldn't find that same box or any cute boxes like it. So I disgustingly bought a new plain box of tissues that I figured I would just make due with. I was really bummed about this! I didn't want the plain tissue box in the bathroom, I wanted the pretty, kiddy-themed, décor-matching tissue box I used to have. (I know, such a tortured life I live.)

When it came time to switch the empty box with the new box, I just couldn't do it. I thought about it for a while, and decided to just go for it and do what my mom does. So, I opened up the "ugly" tissue box, took out the tissues, very carefully opened the pretty tissue box, placed the tissues in the box, and taped the box up. It looks so pretty and I'm sure will make anyone's experience with blowing their nose in the bathroom much more enjoyable. :)

A New House

I had some fun last week making a playhouse for Lucy out of her carseat box. I've had the box saved since the beginning of January and have been thinking about making this house since then. I finally just made myself do it last week and am so proud of it! Here it is:

The front door opens for her to go inside.

The purple border is purple duct tape!

These windows open and close.

I think this is my favorite side. I love the construction paper flowers and I even put curtains on the windows!

Got the idea from my Mom to put contact paper on the inside. Polka dot contact paper!

Lucy was a little unsure of the house and I kind of had to place her in it. She didn't stay in it very long, so we will work on it!

I braced myself the whole time I was working on it for the fact that Lucy might not like it that much, but I hadn't really prepared myself for the fact that she would tear it up! I guess she just does not like the flowers and grass, per the video below! I laughed the whole time she was doing this, because it's funny! I did, though, put the house up out of her reach because she did this right after I finished working on it and I just couldn't bear seeing it torn apart anymore so soon! We'll get it out again here and there and try to get her to play with it instead of tear it up!
