Splash Time!

Ross took the last week of July off for vacation and we had a nice time hanging out at home and doing fun things around town. On Tuesday morning we went to the toddler Splash Time at a local pool and had a great time! There weren't many people there that morning and the weather was great - sun and clouds and not too hot. We had a fun, fun time!

Forever...Ever

We had a friend sing the song "Forever" at our wedding. Ross and I both really liked it and thought it summed up our relationship, so it's been "our song" ever since. The original version is by the Beach Boys, but the version we like the best is from Jesse and The Rippers, you know, from Full House. :)

One night Ross started singing Forever to Lucy when putting her to bed. She seems to pick up on things very easily, especially songs, and started asking us to sing it more often and then started singing it herself. We are very proud of this! :) We sing it to Molly, too, and when she hears it she will start saying "ever, ever, ever." :)

Free Entertainment

A few weeks ago the city milled up the streets in our neighborhood and put asphalt down, giving us brand new streets. This was quite a neat process to watch and gave us 2-3 hours worth of fun, convenient, free entertainment! Both girls really enjoyed watching the trucks and the workers were so nice to wave at them girls, too. It was really educational. I totally enjoyed watching it myself, and the new street is very nice to drive on, too.

Cheers!

One day I looked over at the couch and saw Lucy and Molly sitting like this. It was the cutest thing! Most days Lucy doesn't wear clothes. Once we get home she strips down to her panties and is happy to go around like that. (Sometimes we fight this, sometimes we don't.....just depends on the day.) Molly has started taking her clothes off some. Really, Molly has started doing everything Lucy does! It's totally a "monkey see, monkey do" type situation.

So naturally, Molly took her clothes off, climbed up on the couch (or bed as she calls it), and put the pillow on her lap just like Lucy! When she realized Lucy was drinking juice, Molly asked for hers. I told them to "cheers" their sippy cups and that's what they're doing in the video. So sweet!

Lucy's Style

I love Lucy's sense of style! She is very independent and much prefers to dress herself. This has been going on for probably almost a year. Sometimes it works very well, sometimes it's very frustrating because I want her to wear a certain outfit but she refuses to....

Anyway, when we're at home I really don't care what she wears. In this first picture she's wearing a long-sleeve shirt and long pants. (You'd never know by what she has on that we went swimming that morning in full sunshine and 90 degree temperatures.) :)

The second picture was taken at Walmart. She had one of her favorite dresses on. She calls it her "summer dress" because she liked to wear it in the winter and we wouldn't let her wear it out of the house because it was a summer dress, not a winter dress. She has on her Anna socks with her sandals. She has on a headband that my Gramma Ward made for her. I love Lucy and her outfits like this! And I also love the fact that I let her go out in public like this! I'm sure some moms would be completely embarrassed by her going out like in the second picture, but to that I say who cares! She's three, let her be three!

Riding The Bus At Gumma's House

I got sick last week overnight one night and woke up the next morning knowing there was no way I could take care of my kids. Ross was going to take the day off to care for them, but I desperately did not want the girls to get what I had and wanted them out of the house. My Mom wasn't busy that day and offered to watch them for the day. This was so wonderful! Ross met her halfway between our houses and dropped the girls off and then my parents even brought them back into us that night so we didn't have to go out to get them.

Mom sent me a picture of them playing on the bus at her house. I loved this idea and copied it at our house the next week. What a fun Gumma to play bus with them!

A Good Class Helper

A few weeks ago Lucy had an accident in the gym daycare where she peed her pants. She was washing her hands and all of a sudden peed. :) She was very upset about it and while I was trying to calm her down I told her she could come to my class with me instead of staying in the daycare.

I got her cleaned up and calmed down and was ready to head back to my class when she reminded me that I said she could go with me. So she came with me to class. She was so good! She sat on the mat the whole time and didn't bother me at all. She even did some exercises, too.

Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day! I'm happy to say my girls are dressed in their patriotic attire!
