Molly.........

I think Molly is so cute! She's taken to dressing herself lately and I love it! She puts together some cute outfits and has the cutest expressions to go along with them! I also love her in her glasses. I basically just love everything about her. :)

How To Say WOW!

Lucy told us one day that her teacher taught her a fun way to say wow. We thought it was so funny, and clever, really!! You can watch her explain it here!

Hiding Rocks...A Little Too Well

I recently wrote about hunting for rocks...you can read about it here. Well, after the first time we hunted for rocks, Molly decided she wanted to hide some rocks in our house and let Lucy hunt for them. She did a good job hiding them, in fact so good that it took us a few days to find one of the rocks and she couldn't remember where she hid it!

I did end up finding it when I went to get our vacuum cleaner out one day. I was so surprised when I opened the door of our hall closet to see the little lady bug rock hiding underneath the door. This gave me a good laugh. Molly certainly is good at hiding things!

Window Stickers

One afternoon I was working in the garage and Molly was playing outside. She also played in the car a little bit, one of her favorite things to do. When we got in the car later that afternoon to go pick Lucy up from school I looked at the windshield and was a bit puzzled by what I saw. It was Election Day and I saw an "I Voted" sticker seemingly floating in the air. It took me a few minutes to realize what I was really seeing. It was the I Voted sticker, but it was not floating in the air. It was stuck to my windshield. I looked back at Molly, who was already in her car seat, and asked if she stuck the sticker there. She smiled and said yes. I love her. :)

Spring Break 2019

Spring Break 2019 was a rockin' one for the Wisemans. ;) Lucy and Molly had spring break the first week and Lucy also had an extra Friday off of school. We kicked it off on that Friday with a trip to the art museum for the pre-K art time they have. It was a come and go type set up with painting, paper weaving, coloring, and some different types of paper crafts. I've wanted to go to this event for quite a while but have never been able to so am glad we made it this time!

The next day we had my Dad's retirement party which was a nice time and great way to honor his 40+ years of pharmacy work. After the party we came home to find a 100+-year-old tree had been knocked over by the wind! That was such a surprise to find and not surprising that the wind had done that. It was a crazy windy day.

On Monday we spent the day in Branson being tourists! It was fun walking through Dick's 5 & 10 store and we let the girls each pick out a toy while Ross and I picked out some candy. Lucy had fun riding the horse that was outside the store, but Molly wanted nothing to do with it! We rode the free trolley that goes around downtown Branson and watched the fountain display at the Landing. It was a a perfect weather day and a fun family day!

The girls spent the night with Gumma and Poppy later that week and had a fun time hanging out in the play tent with Gumma!

We capped off the week with some great weather and playing outside on our swingset. Overall it was a pretty good spring break!

Retired!

My Dad is now officially retired! After working full-time as a pharmacist for over 40 years, 36 of those years owning his own pharmacy, he has retired! He decided he was ready to sell and retire three years ago and finally closed on the pharmacy on January 2 of this year. I'm so happy for him to finally be able to be retired and do whatever he wants. Although, I guess I should say he's semi-retired because he still fills in at the pharmacy when needed. We had a lot of fun celebrating his retirement the first part of this year. My mom mad him a fun sign for the day before he closed. I met him and my mom at the office where they closed on that morning to surprise them with a sign. Stephanie had a little party for him at her house that same weekend. The new owners of the pharmacy had a small retirement dinner for him after work on his last official day of work where we invited some of his closets friends to join us. And finally, we had a "real" retirement party for him one Saturday afternoon in March and invited the whole town to come. Stephanie and I had a lot of fun planning and decorating for it. Happy Retirement Dad! I love you!

Finding Rocks!

I recently learned about a whole little subculture of people: People who paint, hide, and hunt for rocks! I saw a friend's post about this on Facebook and decided to check it out for myself. I think the purpose of the rock painting and hiding is to spread love, happiness, and kindness! They can be hidden anywhere...at a park, at a business, at a restaurant...really anywhere, but just has to be outside and not inside a place. There's a Facebook group called "Springfield Mo Rocks" that you can post a picture of your rock to and see how it can travel from person to person or place to place.

I kept asking the girls if they wanted to go look for rocks at the park and I don't think they really understood what I was asking because they didn't seem interested at all. We finally went one day to look for rocks and thankfully ran into a friend (the same one with the Facebook posts who also happens to be on the PTA and has a daughter in Lucy's class) and they showed us where some of their hidden rocks were. We had our first finds and they girls thought it was pretty neat! We found several more and kept a few and then rehid around the park.

I got some rocks for us to paint and later that week we painted them and had a fun time hiding our rocks at the park. It's a great way to get out and enjoy the beautiful spring weather we've been having lately. I might like it a little more than they do, but that's okay. ;)

St. Patrick's Day Fun

I like to decorate and celebrate most all holidays, even the kind of "lesser" ones. I get this form my mom. She decorated for every holiday when we were growing up and I've taken to doing that myself. The latest "lesser" holiday we celebrated was St. Patrick's Day. We had a fun time making green scrambled eggs and green pancakes for breakfast that day. The girls really loved it!

I also had to make sure and get my traditional St. Patrick's Day picture with the girls in the same position. I started this in 2015 when Molly was a baby and have taken a picture as close to this ask possible all the years since. It's fun to see how they've grown over the years!
