Crunch Goes the Back-end

Wednesday afternoon mom and I were leaving the mall to go pick up my wedding flowers and got into an accident in the mall parking lot. We were backing up and were pretty much all the way in the aisle and then crunch....we were hit. The lady who hit me was driving a '95 Jeep and her back driver's side hit my back driver's side. When we got out of the car to look at everything she called someone to tell them she'd been in an accident and I heard her say "I was talking on my cell phone and backed up and hit her." I so hope she does not change her story when it comes to talking with the insurance adjusters. Thankfully there was another car waiting to take my parking spot and she saw it all happen and agreed that I was not at fault - the Jeep was.

I have called in the claim to her insurance company and am finding they do not work as quick as I would like them to!

No one was hurt which is good but I'm so bummed out about my car! I have had my car for a little under 3 months and have really enjoyed it. Hopefully it will get fixed quickly and everything will be back to normal!

Sold.....But Not To Us

We found out yesterday that the house we have been hoping to buy (once Ross' house sold) has sold to another owner. We were both kind of bummed about it but not too broken up. We realize that this obviously wasn't the house God has planned for us and are looking forward to finding that house!

We haven't had any hits on Ross' house for a few weeks. It has been on the market for a little over a month now and we have had a few people look through it but no follow-ups. So it looks like I will be moving to Battlefield after we're married! I am looking forward to setting up a new house and making it into more of a home for both of us.

Can you believe our wedding is just 24 days away?! Right now I'm feeling very good about the day. I still need to get the wedding ceremony programs printed and work on the seating arrangements for the reception. Other than that, I really don't know what's left! And I've been thinking about our wedding day and different things that could wrong and have such a peace about it! Who cares if something gets out of order, who cares if the music doesn't go right, who cares if I trip (I sure hope not, though!)....point being I really want to not let anything that goes wrong that day bother me. I just want to have a fun, fun day!

Presents from Mom

Starting last October my mom has given me a small gift each month on the 17. She has included a 3x5 index card with a little poem stating "6 months from today you'll be a bride" "5 months from today you'll be wed" and etc. Each present has been wrapped in "for a special bride-to-be" wrapping paper and has had a pretty beaded flower attached to it. (By the way, she has been holding onto the wrapping paper since 1998 when my sister got married, waiting to use it for me!)

On March 17, one month before our wedding, she gave me a Hallmark Barbie & Ken collectible ornament. Now if you're familiar with Hallmark ornaments you know they are dated. The ornament I received was dated 1997.....she has had this ornament on her "Libby shelf" in one of her closets since 1997, just waiting until I was engaged to give it to me!

I love this gift and love my mom!!!

Ross.....

Ross is just the best. He emailed this to me this morning:

I hope you have fun with all of your stuff today.  I can’t wait to see you in your wedding dress with your hair all done on our wedding day.  You are going to be the prettiest bride I’ve ever seen!!  I love you so much!

One Month To Go!!!!

I am so excited!!!! One month from today I'll marry Ross Wiseman!! All morning I've been thinking about what I'll be doing at this time on April 17. I have so much enjoyed all of our wedding planning, talking about it with everyone, the showers we've had, but am really ready to get married and start our life together!

I really don't have much wedding stuff left to do. Some of my girlfriends are helping me put together my party favors tonight, programs are in the process of being printed and then there are just a few miscellaneous items left to do that I can get done between now and then, no problem.

Yey!!!!

Ash Grove Wedding Shower

On Saturday, March 13, my best friend from high school (and a bridesmaid), Kara Snider, had a shower for me at her house in Ash Grove. I invited my bridesmaids and Ross' mom, along with some girls I went to high school with and their mothers.

I think about 12 people were there and it was such a nice time. It was fun catching up with some of the girls I hadn't talked with in a while. I got some more very nice gifts!! More place mats and napkins, bathroom accessories for our master bathroom, a roasting pan, note cards, picture frame and honeymoon photo album, blanket, serving spoons, more picture frames, candy dish, serving bowl....that's about it!

All in all it was a very nice time!

Wedding Shower!

I had a wedding shower on Saturday, March 6. This was given by my sister and Matron of Honor, Stephanie Herndon, and my mom, Wanda Ward. They had the shower at Ross' house, figuring it would be easy for everyone as most of the guests lived in Springfield.

My mom and Stephanie were at Ross' house Thursday afternoon getting everything set up. At one point I received a text from Ross saying "they are girlyfying my house!" Love it! Ross was such a good sport to let them take over his house for a few days.

The shower was so nice and pretty and really everything I would have done myself had I thrown it for someone else. Stephanie put together some very pretty flower bouquets using the same flowers I'll have at the wedding. The theme for the shower from the invitations to the cake to the napkins to the picture frame was "She Said Yes!" This was such a perfect theme, as that was the statement printed on our save the date cards. They thought of everything - they had balloons marking the way to Ross' house, a guest list page for everyone to sign in on, "love" music playing in the background, china cups for coffee, very pretty glass plates for the food, napkins imprinted with "She Said Yes!", several of our pictures around the room, oh I could go on and on. It was just such a nice atmosphere.

There were 13 people there, including me, a few of my friends, some of my mom's friends and Ross' mom (who is also named Wanda). The shower started and everyone introduced themselves and then I told the story of how Ross and I met, started dating and got engaged. We played a little game and then had food. The food spread was very nice, not too much, not too little. We had little smokies, chips and dip, cheese and crackers, strawberries, oranges and grapes, cake and punch.

After the food came the presents! I received so many nice gifts! Mainly kitchen and bath items. A few baking pans, baking utensils, cookie sheets, spatulas and servers, oven mitts and dish towels, bathroom waste bucket, lotion pump, soap and toothbrush holder, a mattress pad and pillowcase covers, and on and on! My Aunt Linda gave me a pen and pencil set imprinted with my new name, Libby Wiseman. That was very neat! She also gave me, my sister, my mom and Ross' mom handkerchiefs from my Gramma's collection, very special gift!

After everyone left I helped my mom and Stephanie clean up - I'm sure Ross was glad to have his house back :) Later that afternoon, me, mom, Stephanie and Wanda went to the bridal shop to try my wedding dress on. Stephanie and Wanda had not seen it yet so that was fun! Then mom, Stephanie and I hung out for a while talking about wedding stuff and then met up with Ross for dinner. Ross and I hung out later that night - perfect ending to a perfect day!

Shower Invitation - so cute!

Ross spent a lot of time in his room instead of the living room Thursday-Saturday!

This table was in the entryway and had the guest sign-in list

Not Much Is New

Not much is new this week.

Last Saturday Ross and I went to Fayetteville, Ark., for the afternoon to visit my cousin and his family. Rusty and Stacey Fink and Lydia, Ellen and Mitchell. Lydia and Ellen are the flower girls in our wedding - they are so excited! It was fun seeing them again and catching up and nice for Ross to meet them before the wedding.

Then we headed up to Joplin to watch Trevor's last Upwards basketball game. Basketball with 10 7-8 year olds is quite a fun time!

We have all of our wedding music picked out and ready to go, the wedding ceremony is pretty much squared away and I'm going to start working on my party favors this weekend - there's nothing like working ahead!

I have a bridal shower this Saturday that my sister, Stephanie, is throwing for me. My mom is helping her, too, and it will be at Ross' house. I am excited for this shower!
