Happy Birthday to Lucy!

Today is Lucy's first birthday! It's so hard to believe that one year has already passed by, and fun to remember back to what all was going on a year ago today. Lucy has just been the best thing ever. She is so fun, happy, loving, and the sweetest little thing. We love her so much and have had the best time with her. Today has been a fun day. We woke her up with breakfast in bed, of which she loved eating her cinnamon muffin! Then we went to the zoo and she's now taking a nap. We might take her to the park later today and then have a few presents to open tonight!

We had a little family party for her last Saturday and will have a big "friend" party next Saturday. We hadn't planned on having two parties, but Lucy had an ear infection last week and we thought it was best to postpone her party, not knowing if she would be okay or not. It will be fun to celebrate with friends! We gave her a little smash cake last week and she will get another one this Saturday. She seemed to like it!

Hush Little Baby Don't Say A Word - Part 2

Last November I wrote a blot post about rewriting the song, Hush Little Baby Don't Say A Word. You can read about it here. I have since completed my updated version of the song and wanted to share it with you!

Hush little Lucy, don't you cry
Mommy's gonna rock you till your teardrops dry.

And when your teardrops are no more,
Mommy's gonna play with you on the floor.

And when your floor playtime is done,
Mommy's gonna take you along for a run.

And on that run you'll get to see
The flowers and the birds and the sky and the trees.

And when the winter winds start to blow
Mommy's gonna play with you in the snow.

And in the snow we'll build snowmen
And if they melt we'll build them again.

And when the grass turns green in the spring
Mommy's gonna play with you on the swings.

We'll pump our legs to and fro
Up and up and up we'll go.

And in the summertime we'll play
Out in the sun everyday.

And in the sun we'll go swimming
Running, jumping, biking.

But now it's time to go to sleep
Sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, don't say a peep.

And in your sleep please dream of this
Mommy's hugs and her sweet kiss.

So hush little Lucy, don't you cry
Mommy's gonna rock you till your teardrops dry.
