Each year in September our church has a women's event called "Sisters." It's just a night for the women of the church to come together for a service and share a special time together. They set up a photo backdrop for the event the Sunday before the event so I had to take advantage of it with a photo off of my two girls since they are sisters! I love them so much!
This is my rain guage after only one night! We got 4 inches of rain and I could not believe it. I love this rain guage and seeing it pop up with all the water in it.
This is from over a month now, but we had a good last day at the gym in the summer! Since they did the Lion King camp the two weeks before school started, their last gym day was earlier than normal. They did the usual gym thing - Lucy read and Molly sat in the gym and played on her phone. Then we went to Krispy Kreme and we enjoyed donuts! I always feel bad for making them go to the gym with me each day, but they are troopers!
I've been back to subbing this school year! I started with a half day job on the first Friday of school and then have had at least 1 job each week since. I even subbed three days in Molly's class last week! I've enjoyed subbing and have just done 3rd and 4th grade. I think that's the perfect age for me - not too young, yet not too old yet! I'm also enjoying earning some extra money!
One Saturday after doing all of our wash I found that one of Ross' socks was missing. I noticed the unpaired sock after my first load of wash that day and figured I'd find it in some of the other loads I was doing. But, at the end of the day the sock was still missing and I had no clue where it was. I gave up on looking for it and figured it would eventually show up.
And I was right! It did show up, only not where and when I thought it would! It showed up when I was putting clean sheets on our bed two weeks later! I guess the sock had gotten washed with my sheets and stuck to them. It spent the week being folded up in the sheets and then spent the week under our fitted sheet until I changed them! The great sock mystery was solved!
I bought this bag of chips on one of my last Walmart online orders. I noticed the open bag when I got home and remembered a friend had told me you can return damaged items like this in the app. So I opened up my app, started a return, and got my refund! The best part is that I did not have to return the item to the store and didn't have to do much explaining about why I was returning the item. I think that is a great feature and I sure hope people don't take advantage of it and they do away with it.
One day when I was going to the bathroom in our half bath right off the kitchen I noticed this:
We like to make smores and since we don't have a fire pit we have found that using our grill to make smores works pretty well. One particular night we wanted smores but it was way too hot to stand on the deck to make them. We thought about using the oven, but then realized we could use our toaster oven instead, so we did! It worked pretty well and satisfied our smores craving!
All summer Lucy wanted to go to Barnes and Noble to look at books and Molly wanted to go to Starbucks. One summer morning I made both of their dreams come true! Our Barnes and Noble has a Starbucks cafe in it, so we did both! Lucy enjoyed looking at books and even bought one and both girls enjoyed their Starbucks treats! I love making memories like this!
We took a day trip to Branson one Saturday in late July and it was a pretty fun time! We went to Target and Walmart (because why not?!) and then did some shopping at the Tanger outlet mall. We looked through a furniture store and then ate at a place called Billy Gail's that has huge pancakes. We ended the night with some snow cones on the Branson Landing to watch the light display. It was a fun little trip!
