Mommy's Toys

The girls now know that Mommy has toys just like they have toys. In this case, Mommy's toys are all of my piano books and sheet music. I keep them in the piano bench and Molly got into the bench one day and threw sheet music all over the floor. It was so frustrating to me! I had to go through and sort everything, trying to match up each of the pages to a song. Most of the pages don't have words on them, just music, and are not numbered, so it was hard to figure out what went to what song. I got them all back together, with the exception of four pages that I have no idea what song they go to.

From time to time, Molly has tried to get into the bench again and get my toys out. I know she's doing this because I heard Lucy say, "No, Molly, those are Mommy's toys." :)

Not Napping

Molly is a pretty good napper. She takes one nap a day from about 1:15-2:45pm. For the most part she falls asleep pretty easily, which is nice. Sometimes, though, we do have trouble with her throwing a fit before her nap or just not wanting to nap at all. I'm so happy to have a video baby monitor and love watching her when she's playing or not wanting to nap. You can watch her not napping here!

Let's Make Like Tom Cruise...

Ross likes to say "Let's make like Tom and Cruise" when we're getting ready to leave a place. Lucy has picked up on this and when we were getting ready to leave the restaurant on the first night of vacation she said, "Let's make like Tom Cruise and get some gas." It was so funny! She got it a little mixed up, but just so funny that she remembered that! You can watch her say it here.

Our First Family Vacation

We took our first family vacation together a few weeks ago! We drove to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where we played on the beach for a few days and explored the town. We left on a Saturday and drove to Tupelo, MS, where we stayed the night. This was the girl's first hotel stay and they thought it was really neat! We finished our drive to Fort Walton Beach on Sunday and played on the beach for a short while after we arrived. It rained some during the week, we did some sight-seeing around Fort Walton Beach and Destin. Other than that, we just hung out on the beach. The girls loved playing in the sand and on the last day Molly really began to like playing in the ocean. Lucy much preferred the sand to the ocean. We took two days to drive home, too, which seemed to work well for us. We stayed in West Memphis, AR, our last night and the girls were thrilled that we got to eat at a Perkins for dinner! It was fun to go on vacation, but fun to be home, too!

Getting ready to head out!

It's hard to do a car selfie when kids are strapped into a car seat!

Lucy was so excited to wear her backpack and roll her suitcase into the hotel!

So sweet!

Relaxing in the hotel.

Molly made herself right at home!

Lucy was so excited to sleep in her bed at the hotel! This is the toddler blow-up bed that Ross' parents have at their house. We borrowed it for our vacation. Lucy started off the night in her bed, but ended up in my bed with me before the night was over.

Breakfast at the hotel!

This is the front side of our condo. We were on the top level in the middle and had our own assigned parking spot, too. It was a very nice, quiet condo right on the beach.

First views of the ocean!

First time playing on the beach!

View from our part of the beach.

Our room was the top, middle. It was a great location with a great view.

This was the only family picture we got while on vacation...well the only family picture that wasn't a selfie!

It rained on Monday so we stopped by the Eglin Air Force Museum to look at the neat fighter planes.

Ross appropriately wore his Top Gun shirt to the museum. :)

Molly loved making sand angels.

Lucy standing with "sand trees." For whatever reason, she called palm trees sand  trees.

All ready to hit the beach!

Ready for the long trip home!

Oh no! What happened to Lucy and Molly?!

Sometime along the drive we looked back to see that Molly had started taking off her dress while in her car seat. Molly is so silly.

These pigs are the best. Both girls got one when we went souvenir shopping one day. They are so funny, too. When you squeeze them they make an oinking noise and they are just hilarious.

Perkins for dinner!!

Picnic lunch outside of McDonald's. Next stop, home!
