Apologies

A few weeks ago Ross was gone for the week on a work trip and I had a really bad night with Lucy. We were struggling to get along and it was just not fun at all! I got her all ready for bed and left her in her room and I went to watch TV because I needed a brake. She came downstairs a little while later with these two notes. It was the sweetest thing! These were written all on her own; I did not ask her to write a thank you note or anything at all. It was very sweet! I think what I love most of all about it is the way she sounds out the words to write them. So very precious!

Sock Holders!

Gramma Ward made these sock holders for me and I love them! The girls keep all of their shoes in our mud room and when they come in the door, they sit down and take their socks and shoes off. They ususally put their dirty socks back in the clean sock box and I most always forget to get them come wash day. I've been wanting something for them to put their dirty socks in and asked Gramma if she could make something for me. She did and I love them! I think they are super cute and the girls are doing a good job at putting their dirty socks in the jean bags. Thank you, Gramma!

Bed Partners

Ross travels some with his job during the summer months and he was gone quite a bit in August and September. I started letting the girls sleep with me while he's gone because it's fun, they like it, and honestly it helps me to get them into bed quicker being alone. :) Sometimes I can sleep on the end, but sometimes I have to sleep in the middle. Either way it's not the best sleep, but I sleep okay for the most part. I snapped this picture one night last week before I went to bed. Too sweet. :)

One Last Swim

I took this picture on Labor Day as we were headed to our neighborhood pool for one last swim of the season. It was a hot day, but the water was super cold. That didn't stop Lucy and Molly, though! They loved swimming and wanted to soak up every last bit of it as long as they could!

School Papers

I pulled this out of Lucy's backpack a few weeks ago and just loved it so much. I asked her if she did this on her own or in one of her classes. She said she did it in art class. I didn't ask anything more, because nothing more is needed to know about it. :)

The Summer Of Chick Fil A

We spent all but one of our summer Tuesday mornings at Chick fil A for their story and craft time. Chick fil A has this every Tuesday morning from 8:30-10am and it's just the best time. There's a story and then a craft relating to the story. We went a few times when the girls were much younger and haven't been able to go due to school. I remembered it at the beginning of summer and we ended up going every Tuesday except the week we were in Kansas City. The girls made lots of fun crafts and always had a great time playing there. We invited friends to meet us there and then had fun meeting new friends that were there, too. I was sad for school to start because we wouldn't be able to go to CFA Tuesday mornings anymore. I look forward to the next Tuesday the girls have off to go enjoy this fun time again!

Princess and Pirates Cruise

Larry and Wanda took us on a Princess and Pirates cruise on the Showboat Branson Belle a few weeks ago and it was a lot of fun! They got a steal of a deal on tickets and we all agreed it was well worth it! There were princesses and pirates around to take pictures with, free face painting, a pancake breakfast, and a cute show. It was a really great time and both girls loved it! Lucy was a little shy about taking pictures with the princesses, but Molly was in complete awe of them adn loved every picture! They both dressed in their Belle dresses and looked beautfil!

Tea Party!

We had a tea party at the end of July and it was just the best time! I made some super cute tea party invitations and was so excited to send them to Gramma, Gumma, and Aunt Stephanie to invite to our tea party. The girls had fun helping me plan everything, too! I think a few of the things I liked best about the tea party is that we used one of the girls' bedsheets for our tablecloth and Lucy made a "tea party" sign out of paper that we stapeled together and taped to our dining room curtains. :)

The girls got all dressed up and Lucy felt very pretty having her hair in a bun and Molly loved having her hair curled and makeup on. Everyone dressed up and we had a great time having tea, coffee, cookies, cake, and fruit. Lucy even read us the book "Tea Party Rules," and we all sang "I'm A Little Tea Pot" together. You can watch us sing here. It was such a wonderful time. :)
