Another One Bites The Dust.....

I have a hard time with our garbage disposal. So many times I turn it on and hear an awful noise coming from the bottom of the sink and I know just what it is - something slipped down the drain and got eaten by the garbage disposal. I've chewed up several measuring spoons and even a spoon from our good, everyday silverware set.

My latest victim was this 1/4 cup measuring cup. I had no idea it had slipped down into the chambers of death until I flipped the disposal switch on and heard the noise. I turned it off as quickly as I could and was so surprised to pull out the cup part, but not the handle. This is by far the biggest item that I've lost to the garbage disposal and hopefully (but probably not) will be the last!

Nacho Cheese!

We finally broke into the can of nacho cheese sauce that we got for Christmas. I wrote about it here! We had leftovers for dinner last Friday night and had some chicken marinated in adobo sauce so decided to make nachos with the nacho cheese sauce. It actually wasn't too bad!

Mommy Knows Us SO Well!

When the girls take a shower and wash their hair I always dry their hair with my hairdryer in my bathroom. When they get ready in the morning I usually end up brushing their hair and running my straight iron through their hair at the kitchen table. I have wanted to get away from this set up (especially brushing hair at the kitchen table) for a long time time now, but habits are sometimes hard to break!

The past few weeks I've started making them go upstairs in the mornings to their bathroom to get their hair brushed. I bring my straight iron in there to brush and fix their hair. This has gone okay so far, but I get tired of bringing my straight iron back and forth. So I decided that it was time for them to have their own. I told them I was going to buy them their own hair dryer and straight iron to keep in their bathroom. They were super excited about this, especially Molly! She kept asking me each day if I'd bought the new items yet. When I finally said yes, she was really excited! I let them open up the Amazon box both items came in and it was so fun to listen to them open it!

The flat iron I bought for them is pink in color. I heard Molly "ooh and ahh" over it when she got it out of the box and say, "Lucy look! Mommy knows us so well!" That was so sweet! I'm assuming she was talking about me knowing that they would love the pink straight iron! That made my day!

Christmas 2021

We had a really nice Christmas season! It started on my birthday, November 7, when the girls got me to put the Christmas tree up! We put it up and then I slowly got out the rest of the Christmas decorations that week. I do love the decorations, but am just not a big fan of actually doing the decorating! It's not hard, but just a process that I always seem to drag out over an entire week!

Anyway, we had a great time doing lots of Christmas-type things. We saw Santa, went to Silver Dollar City to see the lights, drove around Springfield looking at lights, went to the Japanese Stroll Gardens to look at lights, made Christmas cookie cutter cookies and decorated them, spent time with both our families, and just enjoyed the entire season. Here are some pictures.......
