Neighbors

We have some fun neighbors! I've written about them here, telling about some of the pranks they (mainly Mike) have played on it. It snowed about 8" a few weeks ago and due to the way our house sits in relation to the sun in the winter, any snow on our front yard takes much longer to melt compared to all of the other houses in our neighborhood. The picture below is from one week and one day after we received 8" of snow. It might be hard to tell, but there's still a decent amount of snow on the ground.

One morning when I came home from the gym I noticed a big sign on our front bushes. It was a little hard to see what what the sign said from the road, but I immediately knew it was something from Mike! I pulled in the garage, got out, and walked over to the sign to read, "Yard equipped with underground refrigeration."

It made me laugh out loud because it was just funny and quite clever! I could see how someone might wonder if we did have something like that based on how long the snow stays in our yard! But I know Mike knew better, he was just being a prankster!

Molly's 7th Birthday!

We had a fun time celebrating Molly's 7th birthday! We had a friend party the weekend before, a family party the day before, and on her birthday we had a fun time celebrating her some more!

Both parties were a "donuts and pajamas" theme and everyone wore pajamas, even grandparents! We had donut bingo and pin the sprinkle on the donut for games and of course, lots of donuts to eat!

Her birthday was on a Sunday and our church had sent her a birthday card the week before along with a sticker that said "it's my birthday." She was very excited to wear it to church and everyone sang happy birthday to her! She wanted to go to the mall in the afternoon on her birthday, so we went to the mall! She was also promised a McDonald's happy meal for dinner and loved everything about it!

Molly is such a fun girl and loved everything about all of her celebrating! I love her enthusiasm and excitement for life!

Valentine's Day 2022

We had a nice Valentine's Day this year. The girls had a great time at their class parties and enjoyed getting a gift from Ross and I. We gave Lucy a set of make-up brushes that she LOVED and Molly got a Doorables toy that she had been wanting. It's fun when they get so excited for their gifts!

Ross brought me flowers and bought me a new throw blanket for the couch. We had a yummy steak dinner that night that was even cut into the shape of a heart! I tried to get some good pictures of all of us, but for whatever reason, the girls just can't hold still and smile for like 5 seconds! Oh well.........

Bonsai!

Ross is now the proud owner of a Bonsai tree! I got it for him as a surprise kind of for Valentine's Day and kind of just because. We both really like the Karate Kid movies and have really enjoyed watching Cobra Kai, too. Bonsai trees are a big part of the Karate Kid series, so I thought it would be fun for him to have a tree for his office!

I searched around town for a bonsai tree and couldn't find any and ended up ordering it online from Home Depot! I was a bit worried about how it might fare during shipping, but it arrived just fine. I had Ross close his eyes and brought it out for him. I think he was really surprised! You can watch that here.

He brought it to work the next day and sent me a picture of it's new place in his office. I think it will be fun for him to have there and neat to see how it grows.

Molly Is 7!!

Toady is Molly's 7th birthday! She's such a great kid! All her life I have described her as "the perfect mix of happy and calm." I think that still holds true today, but I would also describe her as "she loves to laugh!" Molly can just laugh and laugh and laugh and as hard as you try not to laugh along with her, you can't! You just end up laughing, too!

Molly is such a sweet girl. She's very kind and caring and aware if anyone is upset or sad. She is very good at minding and doing what's asked of her, except when she's tired, then it's a bit of a struggle! She's a bit of an alarm clock, always starting to crash at about 8:30 at night and wakes up about 6:50am each day. She is just the best and I love her so!
