I think it's safe to say that everyone has a real smile and a fake smile. And I'd say that you can tell a difference between the two. A real smile just seems, well, real. You can often tell a fake smile because it seems forced and somewhat unnatural.
Lately, well for the past 8 1/2 months now, I think I have had nothing but real smile when it comes to Lucy. Sometimes I realize that I'm just smiling away while watching her, even when she's not doing anything super exciting. That smile is a R-E-A-L smile! It's a deep, heartfelt smile that is filled with nothing but joy. It's amazing how even just watching Lucy sleep or play with her toys can bring such a real, big smile to my face. I don't care if it brings me wrinkles, either. Those wrinkles will definitely be worth it!

Waiting For The School Closing List
We've had a lot of snow lately and with that has come lots of school closings. To this day I still look to see if Ash Grove, where I went to elementary-high school, is out of school when the weather turns bad. The way we learn about school closings now has changed so much from when I was a kid. The school closing list still scrolls along the bottom of the TV, but today there are so many other ways to find out if school is canceled or not...searching online, opening the local news or radio station's app on your smart phone, or getting a "robo" call from the district telling you school is canceled for the day.
Tuesday afternoon I checked the local news app on my phone to see if Springfield was out of school. It seemed like it took forever to scroll to the S section! I wished there was a search feature on this app so I could simply type in the name of the school I wanted to find instead of having to scroll all the way down.
I laughed to myself when I realized how impatient I was being and remembered what really took forever was being a kid and watching the school closings at the bottom of the TV and just missing the A section for Ash Grove. Missing the As meant I had to watch the schools scroll all the way back to A to see if Ash Grove was out or not. Sometimes it seems that no matter how far technology advances, we always want more!

Wiseman Family Pictures
Last month I wrote about Family Pictures. I finally have a Wiseman family picture to post. This was taken at my brother and sister-in-law's house the first weekend of November. It's Ross, Lucy, and I, along with his parents and his bother and his family. Haddie, our niece, is just 2 weeks younger than Lucy!
