A Summer Day Straight Out Of 1980-Something

We...well maybe more so I...had the best time Monday afternoon and it seemed like an afternoon straight out of the 1980s. We had some friends over to play on the driveway in our friendly caterpillar sprinkler. We've had it for a few years and I think it got the most use it ever has on Monday. Everyone had fun playing with the sprinkler and we even got out the umbrellas and pool toys to play with! I brought up some empty storage tubs from the basement and we filled those up to make pools for each kid. It was so much fun and they played outside for probably two hours.

When our friends were getting ready to go home we heard some music from the end of the street and realized it was the ice cream truck! We got a few treats from the truck which made for the perfect ending to a super fun afternoon.

I'm just in love with this fun day that we had! It struck me that it seems like this is something I would have done in the 1980s when I was Lucy's age and it goes to show that you really don't need a whole bunch of fancy toys to have fun!

Ross Is 40!

Ross turned 40 on May 2 and May 2 was a busy day for us...Lucy's field trip and Lucy's kindergarten music showcase! We didn't celebrate Ross' birthday until the next day because his actual birthday (as the girls would say) was just busy. His parents came down on his birthday to pick up Molly after preschool while I was at Lucy's field trip with her class. They took Molly to the WOW museum and to get ice cream, per her request. :) They went to the show with us and then we go pie at Village Inn with my parents, too.

To celebrate Ross' birthday we had dinner at O'Hana Japanese Steakhouse. This place has been a favorite of mine and Ross' since 2008, and we introduced the girls to it this past Christmas. They loved it! They loved the show as well as the spaghetti as Molly calls it. :) We enjoyed dinner, opened some presents and home, and then had cake made by Wanda.

The next Saturday we had some of Ross' BFFs over to celebrate his birthday once again! Happy #40 to Ross!!

Mother's Day 2019

I had a nice Mother's Day this year. Both of the girls made me a gift for me at school....so thankful for the teachers that go the extra mile like that! The girls were very good to take pictures with me after church that day, too! We had breakfast, Molly and I took a nap, and then we went out to dinner with my parents. It was a nice, relaxing day.

Put The Lid On Next Time

Molly goes to the gym with me every MWF morning and I always pack a snack and drink for her to take along. I fill her sippy cup up with grape juice and let it set on the counter with the lid off until I'm ready to pack it in her bag. I do this because I have trouble with the cups leaking and I somehow think this method reduces the leakage..........anyway, one morning I did not have the lid screwed on when I picked up the cup and realized this a little too late. I spilled the grape juice on the counter, the stove, the floor, the rug, my slipper, my clothes........oh it was so annoying to have done this! I didn't have time to completely clean it up but knew I had to at least wipe up what I could until I got home from the gym. So I got to work cleaning up. Molly knew this happened and every so insightfuly said to me, "I guess you should put the lid on next time." I just looked at her and said, "yes, I guess I should." Such a smart little child I have............. :)

The BEST Selfie Part 2

In February at Molly's family birthday party I took a group selfie of everyone there. It was such a great selfie and I posted about it here. We celebrated Lucy's birthday at the end of April with the same family members and I took another group selfie of us. I think it turned out just as good as the first one!

Walking Into School

I take Lucy to school everyday and she likes to go all the way down to be dropped off, even if the drop off spot right by the gym door where she goes in is open. :) I love to watch her walk in to school as I drive away...just fun to watch her be her own person and start this whole other part of her day that I really know nothing about! One day I took some pictures and even a video of her walking it....you can watch her walk in here. :)

Easter 2019

We had a fun Easter weekend this year. The weather was absolutely beautiful and we had a fun time playing outside. On Saturday we went to a couple of Easter egg hunts and the girls had fun dyeing Easter eggs. Easter Sunday was a perfect weather day and we were able to get some great pictures outside. My parents came over for breakfast after church and then later that afternoon we went to my sister's in-law's house to hang out a bit. It was a beautiful day for a beautiful reason to celebrate!

Just Swinging

We've had some nice spring weather lately so have been able to play outside after dinner. The girls love to play in the backyard and on our swing set. They also love swinging different types of ways! You can watch them here!

9 Years!

Ross and I celebrated 9 years of being married on April 17! We had a pretty uneventful celebration...just dinner out at Mexican Villa with our two little munchkins! It was fun to remember and think back on our wedding day. It was just the most absolute perfect day ever!

Lucy's Report Card

I'm so proud of Lucy! She's done such a great job in Kindergarten this year and came home with an excellent third quarter report card! We are down to only 9 1/2 days of school left!
