May 27 was our last day of school! The girls were so good to let me take pictures of them at home and again at school in front of the sign. (I wonder how many years I'll have left of doing that with little to no complaining involved?!)
Overall this school year was a good one! It started in an odd way with being completely on our own at home on Monday and Tuesday, virtual school on Wednesday, and at school on Thursday and Friday for the first quarter. Second quarter and third quarter we were at school Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with a virtual day still on Wednesday. Fourth quarter they went back to school all five days and I'm so glad they did! We also managed to get through the year without having to do any Covid quarantines. I am SO very thankful for that!
Lucy completed second grade and has learned so much! One of the things I'm most excited about that she learned is how to write in cursive! She has such pretty handwriting and I know she's very happy that she can now write in cursive. She has really started to enjoy reading and is good at math, but I don't think it's her favorite! She had a good teacher and and overall good year!
Molly completed kindergarten! As Lucy said, we will never be in kindergarten again since we don't have a child younger than Molly! That's kind of a sad thought, but on to better things! We were so very thankful that Molly had the same kindergarten teacher that Lucy had and we absolutely loved her! Molly did such a great job in school! She finally has "her" friends and not just Lucy's friends and her little BFF actually lives a few doors down from us on our street! Molly learned how to read and actually scored very high on her end-of-year reading test! I am so very proud of her! She also received the MVP award in her class for the month of May!
Now on to summer with a Florida beach vacation and lots of time at the neighborhood pool!
