Ross finished our kitchen update project last week and it looks great now! It began back in October of 2013 when we changed our kitchen countertops. When we bought our house in July of 2010, the countertops were a granite tile. Neither one of us like the color of the tile and we both hated that it was tile! Food would get stuck in the grout between the tiles and it just didn't look good. We updated the countertops to a solid slab of granite and it looked very good.
In March 2020, we had the cabinets painted white, something we had talked about doing for a long time. It looked good, but Ross ended up repainting the cabinets white because the lady who did it used the wrong kind of paint. The cabinets were already chipping (which they shouldn't) only after 2 months of them being painted. We just cut our losses and took care of it ourselves. The paint he used looks so much better and is very sturdy.
Earlier this month Ross began the project of tearing out the old backsplash and putting in a new backsplash. He had never done tile work like this before and did a really great job of it! We borrowed our neighbor's tile saw and overall the backsplash project cost about $250. Not too bad an it looks so nice!
