I remember being a kid and my mom always coming in the dressing room with me and wanting to do it alone. I'm sure this won't become a usual thing when trying on clothes now, but it was fun to let them have a little independence!

Private Dressing Rooms
We went shopping a few weeks ago for new jammies for the girls. They decided they could go into the dressing room themselves to try on their jammies. Ross and I waited outside while they tried on the jammies and stepped out to show us. This was so funny to me because I think they felt really cool doing it alone!

#LifeGoals
I took Lucy and Molly last weekend to Omaha, Nebraska, for our annual visit. (Ross had to work, so he couldn't go.) My parents are both from Omaha, high school sweethearts for 49 years in fact, and growing up our summer vacations were spent in Omaha visiting our grandparents. Since about 2009, we've made it a point to go to Omaha each summer to celebrate my Gramma's birthday in July. She turned 91 on July 10 and is still going strong! She's the only grandparent I have left and I sure do love her.
She has a three-wheel bike that my dad bought and refurbished for her a few years back and she rides it most every day when she can. She rode it one morning while we were there and I was so impressed with this! She rode six times around her driveway and then went down the road a bit and back. I so want to be like that when I'm 91 years old!

I teased her that her outfit matched her bike! |
For as long as I can remember we've always taken selfies together...like even before selfies were cool and done with digital cameras. :) |

Cow Day 2019
Each year Chick Fil A has "Cow Appreciation Day" where they encourage people to dress up as a cow and come in for a free entree. We participated in this last year and had to do it again this year! It was a lot of fun! I used my costumes from last year and the girls and I got ourselves free breakfast! And, of course, we had to bring Daddy along later that night so we could get free dinner! Chick Fil A has the best customer service around.

Fourth Of July
We had a low-key Fourth of July this year. We slept in and had a late breakfast of donuts. :) We bought some fireworks, a few groceries, and then headed out to my parents' house to spend the day. We sat around for a while and then watched the annual Nathan's Hotdog Eating Competition. We've spent the last three-four Fourths at my parents' house and have enjoyed watching that show...although it's kind of gross! Ross and the girls swam a little bit and after dinner we had fun shooting off some fireworks. It was a very nice, relaxing day.

"I"m NOT Tired!"
Molly used to take a nap every day from about 1:30-2:30-3ish. Starting in about April, it was getting very hard to get her to nap. So I decided she could start phasing out of naps. Now she naps maybe one to two times a week, or as needed. The majority of the time when I tell her it's time to nap she defiantly says "I don't need a nap" or "I'm not tired." It's kind of funny and kind of frustrating, because I know she's tired! The picture below is one of those days that she said, "I'm not tired," to me when I told her it was time to nap. I gave up and let her rest on the couch with some snacks and a movie. I wish I could have seen how long it took her to fall asleep...but you know, she wasn't tired, so I didn't think I needed to watch her. ;)

Toy Story 4
We saw Toy Story 4 at the theater a few weeks ago for a friend's birthday party. We all went and all loved the movie. In fact, I kind of feel like Ross and I liked it more than the girls! It was a great show and super fun that we didn't have to pay for it. ;)
Lucy has a Woody, Bullseye, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear stuffed dolls from when she turned two years old. She used to sleep with them, but for the past few years they have been stuffed away in a bag with all the other dolls she doesn't really play with. Well, that night after the movie she decided she needed to get the Toy Story dolls out and sleep with them. Such a sweet girl she is. :)

Baseball Game
Ross' work was handing out free tickets to a Springfield Cardinal's baseball game, so we took some and went to a game last week. It was a beautiful night with great temps and a nice breeze blowing. We all had a fun time, and Lucy even saw her fifth grade buddy, Ainsley, from school. It was a nice family night together!

Ross' Magic Set
Ross relived a little bit of his childhood recently when he brought home his toy magic set that he played with when he was a little boy. His mom had collected several of his items that were still at her house and gave them back to him. :) He had fun looking through his boxes, and was very excited to find the magic set. The girls loved watching him do his trick and playing with it themselves, too! Let the magic set live on for yet another generation! You can watch him do a trick here!

#MomDreams
Since I've been a mom, and probably even before, I've always wanted to be the mom who hauls all the kids around or has all the kids over to her house to play. I want to be involved in my kids' lives and know their friends. A few weeks ago our church had Vacation Bible School and Lucy and Molly were both able to participate in it. I even volunteered to be a crew leader which meant I was there every night for the length of the program.
We invited several of Lucy's friends to come to VBS and they all came! We took one girl with us four out of the five nights and two girls with us three out of the fives nights. This was so much fun to me, hauling all of the girls back and forth! It was also fun to have my car full of Lucy's friends! I realized while driving their the first night I was living out my #MomDreams!
