Puzzle Fail

I've started enjoying putting together jigsaw puzzles and bought myself a new one last month. It was a 1980s-themed puzzle and was a lot of fun to do...until I got to the end and found it was missing two pieces! I couldn't believe this because it was a brand new puzzle! I was working on it in our dining room so looked all over the floor and under the table to see if the pieces had fallen on the floor but they had not.

In a way, though, I was not surprised that this happened. While doing the puzzle I found two duplicate pieces! I wondered if it might be missing some pieces due to the duplicates and I was right on the missing pieces!

I bought the puzzle at Hobby Lobby and took it back to return/exchange. I was worried they wouldn't believe me since it's a puzzle and so easy to lose pieces, but thankfully they let me exchnage it, no problem, no questions asked! I exchanged it for a TV show puzzle and am excited to start working on it!

New Laundry Room!

I now have a laundry room! I have never had a real laundry room before, just an open area where the washer and dryer were, but now I have an actual laundry room! I painted the room purple and we put up a very pretty chandelier! One day I said, jokingly, that we should put a chandelier in there and Ross said sure, so we did! 

I love how the room turned out and am excited to decorate it! 

Perfect Break

I got this yellow bowl as part of a set of mixing bowls for our wedding. For probably 7+ years now I have kept this yellow bowl in one side of my sink to collect little dishes that are dirty. I've liked doing this because it keeps everything together and it's easy to just pull the bowl out when I'm ready to do the dishes and have everything all together.  

I was so sad when one day a few weeks ago I was doing the dishes and it slipped out of my hands when I picked it up. It fell on the floor and broke in two. I was really impressed, though, at the perfect break that it made! I could literally pick up both pieces and put them back together like nothing had happened! I held onto it for a week or so because I wanted to glue it back together, but I realized the type of material this is probably woudn't glue well, so I threw it out. I will miss this bowl! It was the perfect size for what I used it for. 

Bingo!

I went and played Bingo at a local Bingo Hall last week with some friends! It was a good time, but unfortunatley, I did not win! I went into it really hoping I would win something, but I was not lucky that night. I remember playing Bingo like this a few times in college but had forgotten how it all goes. The people there are not joking around! They are serious about their Bingo! I think we played a total of 20 games and were there for about 3 hours. We played different types of Bingos - regular 5 in a row, 4 corners, make an X, make a postage stamp, etc. The hardest one we played was blackout meaning you had to have everything single square on your board called. That was hard because you are playing 9 games at the same time! Overall it was a fun way to spend the evening with friends! 

Fixed Porch

Earlier this year we noticed that some of the bricks on our front porch were starting to fall apart. It was really getting bad so we decided we needed to get it fixed. 

About 6-7 years ago the two steps crumbled so we had to get them fixed. We were able to get in contact with the man who fixed our steps to see if he could fix the porch. He was available and got the job done in a couple of days. It looks so much better now and is a bit safer, too!
