Last week the girls were at home for virtual learning due to covid. Springfield schools closed down on Wednesday, January 26 and reopened on Monday, January 31. THey had to shut down due to the high number of cases and the fact that so many teachers and sub were sick that they couldn't fill the vacant spots. We had Wednesday-Friday and then Monday, 1/24 off as "free" days off. But starting Tuesday, January 25, we did virtual learning. I was dreading it, but it really wasn't bad at all. Both teachers sent very easy to follow instructions as to what to do each day and both girls stayed busy on a call for the majority of the day. Molly was on a call every day at 8:30, 10:30, 12:30, and 2:30, and Lucy was on at 9am and 1pm each day. Molly's calls didn't last very long since they had several and Lucy's calls were a little longer since there were so few. They even had "live" specials classes, so on the days the girls would have PE at school, their PE teacher was on the zoom call giving them things to do. I was super impressed with everyone involved in this virtual process! They made a not-so-ideal situation good and I'm very thankful for that. I am also very thankful that we are back to in-person school this week, however, I feel that will be short-lived! There is a big winter storm predicted to hit this Wednesday and I have little hope of going to school after today!
