Cello Mishap

This is a story that I find very funny, however, I get that it's probably not as funny to others as it is to me!

Lucy is in orchestra this year and has it on Mondays and Wednesdays. She's playing the cello and has to bring her cello and music stand to school each Monday and Wednesday. We put it in the trunk of the van and she gets it out when she gets to school and heads into the building.

One Monday (orchestra day) in December, I took them to school in the morning and dropped them off just like normal. I drove off and headed to Walmart to pick up my grocery order before going back home. When I came to the stop sign I heard something rattling around in the back of the van. I didn't know what it was at first because I knew there wasn't anything back there, but then it hit me! It was Lucy's cello and music stand! We had totally forgotten to get it out of the van when she got to school! When I realized what it was I literally laughed out loud because it was so funny to me!

I was planning to send her teacher a message to let her know I'd bring the cello by school in time for her to have it for orchestra at noon, but he had beaten me to it! When I got to Walmart and looked at my phone I saw that he had already messaged me saying she forgot it and asked if I could bring it to school for her.

I still, to this day, laugh about this story. I told Ross and who knows how many other people about it that day and weeks after. I think one of the funniest things about it is that when we were waiting in the carline that morning before school we saw one of Lucy's classmates walking in the crosswalk carrying his violin and we talked about orchestra. Yet just two minutes later we didn't remember to get her cello out of the car. This is probably the funniest thing that's ever happened to us.....hahah!
